On the Cusp of Adventure!

Thanksgiving Greetings, Mosaic Family!

As we head into the holiday season this coming week, I want to express my own personal THANKS to God for the blessings of this past year.

First of all, every one of YOU have been a HUGE part of God’s blessing in my life. I want to thank each of you for the faithfulness and love you have expressed to me and to each other in hundreds of wonderful ways over the past year. In a world so deeply broken by sin and held in darkness by the Evil One, the love and life of Christ has enveloped and sustained us all time and again this past year, often through each other.

Secondly, I’m deeply thankful for the generous heart of God that has been expressed to each other and our city through you. So many people both at Mosaic and in our downtown community have experienced the love of Christ because of your giving of time, energy, resources and prayers. So many have been given hope and encouragement. THANK YOU for your extravagant generosity that so clearly mirrors our extravagant God.

Speaking of our extravagant God, for those of you who would like to make this Thanksgiving extra-special, let me extend one last invitation to join with some of your Mosaic family for a wonderful weekend at Riverview Camp & Conference Center.

This Sunday is the deadline for registration so please be sure to either go on-line to http://www.mosaicspokane.com/event/2014-11-26-thanksgiving-retreat/ or sign up in person on Sunday.

Starting Wednesday evening, November 26th, with dinner and finishing up Saturday after lunch, dozens of us will be enjoying rest & renewal, fun & fellowship, games and good food, movies and mountains and above all our Creator and Sustainer, God—all on the beautiful Pend Oreille River north of Cusick, WA. Don’t spend this Thanksgiving alone, pining away for friends or family. Come enjoy your extended family…and God… at Riverview!

Finally, as you know, this Sunday, November 23rd, signals the conclusion of our series Mosaic On Mission. During the month of November, we’ve been looking at how God’s heart delights to radically bless us and the community around us when we get generous with what He graciously gives us. We’ve also taken a look at what we believe God is calling us, Mosaic Fellowship, to do in terms of relocation in the downtown core and HOW we think God wants to accomplish that.

Sometime in the next few days, you should all receive a letter that explains our move with more specifics. (If you don't get one, you can pick a copy up at church...or get us your mailing address and we'll gladly send you one.)  Would you please take the next week to really seek God for the next step of faith He wants you to take in being a part of expanding our ministry footprint in the downtown? Join us at one of the scheduled desserts in various parts of town to hear more, ask your questions and give your input. Then let us know either via the enclosed response card or over the next couple of Sundays what God is leading you to do personally. We want nothing less than seeing downtown Spokane experiencing the life and power of Christ through daily encounters with quality Christian businesses, servants and ministries that make a difference for His Kingdom.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see God use you in this coming year in ways you may never have seen him work through you before.

See you Sunday…and around the turkey!

Pastor John
