Snow Daze

Posted by John Repsold on

Warm Greetings on a Blizzardy Day!

School may be closed, snow may be flying and temperatures may be plunging, but there is no lack of fire in the hearts of God’s kids today in Spokane! May this find you warmed to the depths of your soul by the Spirit of God.

Here are a few important things still coming up this week even thought the snow is coming down.

MacPHERSON CHINA DESSERT @ the REPSOLD’S

This Friday night, February 25th, at 7:00PM we’ll be gathering at our home (3205 E. Marie Ct.) for an informative and stimulating time with Chad, Amy and Caleb.  They are heading to China in just a few months and really need our loving prayer and financial support to enter into this next chapter of Kingdom service in Christ.  Come join us for good dessert, great fellowship, passionate prayer and whatever else God may have in store for us and them.  Call Sandy or me for directions to our home if you need them (443-2451).

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY GROWING

Over the past month or so we’ve seen God double the number of kids in our Sunday Children’s Ministry.  So believing that it’s time to take the next faith-step in that area, we’ll be splitting the pre-school and grade-school kids into two groups starting in April.

God has led us to a whole new format for this ministry which I’m very excited about.  It will involve developing 4 different teams of 3 people each that will rotate every 6 weeks (6 weeks on, 6 weeks off).  We’ll have a musical worship time with the kids, a Bible story/lesson time and a games/craft/Bible memory time.

Here’s why I’m really excited about this.  First, it is very Bible-driven and God-centered.  Our kids will all be fully immersed in the Scriptures during this time each week and parents will be getting some information in their hands to help them follow through at home.  Secondly, this format will allow more people to minister more easily out of their gifting and passion.  Thirdly, ministry volunteers will be on for six weeks and off for six weeks, allowing everyone time to rest, renew and rejuvenate.

So if you have a love for kids, music, the Bible and just plain fun, mark SUNDAY, MARCH 13th, on your calendar for an upcoming INTEREST MEETING after church.  (I’ll see what I can do to get some food there too!)

“THE SEASIDE”

The first official Sunday of our new night-club mission point went well.  Some forty people joined in the fun at the A-Club last Sunday night as God worked through Charlie and Lisa (despite his severe back pain) to bring the light of Christ into the downtown club scene.  Please continue to PRAY MUCH for this ministry and let Charlie know if you would like to be part of their prayer or support team ( ).  It’s exciting to see the heart of God worked out in the heart of our city yet again!

SUNDAY @ MOSAIC

While the seating space at 2nd Space is getting fuller, God’s work with us just seems to get bigger.  We’re back into chapter four of Ephesians and this week we’ll be looking at some of the “Rules of Engagement” as we continue the series “Invading Enemy Territory.”  Come join us for a time of God-encounter through worship, prayer, teaching, fellowship, giving and growing on Sunday morning.  We’ll also be hearing from several people about some of the exciting things God is doing in the downtown core through the faithfulness of people at Mosaic.  So slide on down and “experience the heart of God in the heart of the city” this weekend at Mosaic!

Warm greetings to all,

John
