Pastor's Weekly Update

Coffee, Cranberries, Summer Fruits & Dessert

Posted by John Repsold on

We’ve a great weekend coming…especially if you like to eat!

Tomorrow (Saturday, November 17th) kicks off for all our sisters with Women’s Coffee Talk at Rocket Bakery on Howard, 9:30 a.m.  Mosaic’s “First Lady” (that would be my Sandy) will be leading a discussion on “Keeping Joy in Your Holidays.”  Sounds like the perfect way to launch into Thanksgiving week to me!

Saturday evening holds great food as Changing Live’s celebrates Thanksgiving with the spiritual food of worship & the Word at 5:00 p.m. followed by a full-on turkey & ham Thanksgiving meal later.  And I’m sure there will be some cranberry sauce somewhere in there.  Everyone’s invited to worship and celebrate together!

Sunday morning worship brings us to the “summer fruits.”  While we may not have figs, grapes and pomegranates (Israeli summer fruits) at our Food-a-ship time between services, we will be hearing about them from the prophet Amos.  From figs to famines, Amos covers a ton of territory when it comes to what God wants to wave His kids away from and what He loves to see us dive into. Come dive into this insightful Old Testament prophet with us this Sunday at 8:45 or 10:45 a.m.

Sunday night finishes us off (metaphorically speaking, of course) with Pastor’s Dessert at the Repsold’s (3205 E. Marie Ct.).  If you’re new to Mosaic or simply have never been to our home to observe us in our natural habitat, plan to join us from 6:00-7:30 p.m. for a little dessert and a lot of good conversation.  It’s your pastors’ way of saying, “You’re invited into our home as well as our hearts!”

Enjoying what food brings,

Pastor John
