Pastor's Weekly Update

NOW is the Time....

Posted by John Repsold on

Just this week, my wife and I were lamenting the fact that most kids in schools today are not required to take a keyboarding class.  Talk about being handicapped entering the digital age!  The result is that too many teens and young adults are left with only the most rudimentary method of keyboarding:  The Columbus Method—discover and land!

But today, typing (or keyboarding) skills have gone the way of cursive writing. As a result, few people now know where the following famous phrase came from: “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country(or “party”, depending on your typing teacher). That was a line developed by typing drill instructor Charles E. Welle back in the Pre-Cambrian days when typewriters were king.

Well, NOW IS THE TIME for all good men…and women…at Mosaic to come to the aid of their church.

Over the next few weeks and weekends, WE NEED YOUR AID.  If we are to get into our new building in the next month, we will need hundreds of volunteer hours given to the dozens of different projects we have to finish.  From vacuuming and moving offices to painting and rehanging doors, we need YOU.  (I know, I’m sounding like Uncle Sam.)

So I’m asking YOU—all able-bodied and sound-minded servants of Jesus—will you give a few hours over the next month to lend a hand?  We’ll be having work days every Saturday & Sunday afternoon.  Here’s the schedule.

            Saturdays, 1:00-5:00 p.m.

            Sundays, noon-5:00 p.m.

And if you come Sunday after church, try and bring something for the lunch potluck we’ll be enjoying.  If you can cook but not work at the building, we’d be glad to accept your thank offering to God and have you join us in consuming it.  Just bring the food to church on Sunday and, as always, “Come when you can and leave when you must.”

Oh, and if weekends don’t work for you, please let me know other times that you are available to help.  We’ll do our best to line up a project or two you can work on regardless of the day of the week.

Now IS the time!
