It's a wonderful (and cold) weekend to be enjoying wonderful (and warm) interactions with friends and neighbors, both downtown and in your neighborhood. Here are three great opportunities to interact with people in three meaningful and diverse settings.
1.) C.A.M. (Coffee, Art & Music) FRIDAY @ Second Space: from 6-8 p.m. there will be live jazz led by our own Andrew Repsold and a very tallented quartet of former Whitworth music majors. Mark Sanner will be serving some specialty treats and coffee and several young adult artists will be showing their photographic art. This is a GREAT opportunity to invite friends to come hang out, enjoy good music and food all the while watching what God might just do through natural friendship and interaction. So bundle up and join the fun!
2.) MEN'S CONNECTION: Saturday from 8-9:30 a.m. we'll be meeting for breakfast, fellowship and a speaker from UGM Motors, a local business/ministry. It's a great opportunity for us to look at and discuss possible business/ministry models we can use as we expand into our downtown core in the near future with new businesses and locations.
3.) We NEED 5 more SERVERS for CITY GATE Saturday night. With only two volunteers committed so far, we run the risk of having to cancel the meal at City Gate this week. With temperatures as low as they are, this will be a real hardship and blow for dozens of street people who depend on this meal to keep them warm through the night. May I especially encourage those of you who may never have done this before to step in the gap. We meet at 6:30 and are usually done by 9:00. Please let me (
) or Menesia (
) know of your availability.
Of course, we'll be gathering this Sunday at 8, 9:15 and 11:00 to worship our King and Lord. So get ready for a really cool weekend of connecting with God and people.
